Hanging rock is a sacred rock formation for the indigenous tribes of Dja Dja Wurrung, Woi Wurrung, and Taungurung. Although most people know it as a place of mystery and beauty featured in the book 'Picnic at hanging rock' in 1967 followed up by a film and now a TV series.
There are also several outdoor concerts here each year. It is a 10-15 minute drive from Walden.
Take a picnic and see if you can find Miranda, or just take in the majestic views of this sacred land.
