The National has dance, drama, music shows. Also, there is a small but nice park beside the theatre (on Barkly) inc. a pretty cool community art wall. Easiest park to walk to with little kids.

Beautiful park for all ages. Rose garden, conservatory, usually a pond (drained for maintenance nowI think). Kids playground in the far corner if you're coming from Vale St. Very worth the short walk.

Huge park with kids play area after the dog park if you're walking up Alma from Vale St. Lovely walks next to the railway line with flowers or peppercorn trees. Nice cut through to Chapel St.

If you have kids who like trains, this is the best park in the area. Quite small, good equipment, lots of places to grab coffee on the way (Little Piggy on William St is nice) and trains go past often

No shortage of places to get great coffee in St Kilda but Leroy is always a winner. The chai is good too.
