The only coffee shop in town (besides its sister store out west) that boasts the formidable Slayer espresso machine! Locally roasted beans, amazing staff, and a pup-friendly patio make this a great spot for coffee.

Hidden inside the Oliver Hotel in downtown Knoxville is the best cocktail bar in town. Enter in the alley behind the hotel (entrance is by a red light in the alley) and go during off-peak hours to avoid having to wait in line. Sunday nights are particularly nice there... if you go on a Sunday night, tell the bartender you're staying in my apartment :)

Scottish-themed bar with a truly awe-inspiring collection of whiskey and scotch. Decent enough food, too. There's usually live music, too: bluegrass, country, folk. There are instruments on the wall if you want to take them down for a jam sesh!

Affectionately called Fellini Kroger by the locals (due to the surreal nature of its clientele), this grocery store is open until 11 p.m. Not the world's best produce section, but plenty of staples available at a reasonable price.
