"Excellent vegan and vegetarian food with superior service." ph: (808) 985-8979 The restaurant and gallery are located on the grounds of the historic Hopper Estate at the lower end of Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village. They are open daily except Mondays - lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and coffee, tea and desserts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations are suggested for groups of 5 or more people. After eating, you can walk through the gallery, which is unique and lovely.

Punalu’u Black Sand Beach is just a 30 minute drive south of Volcano. Famous for its volcanic black sand beach Punalu’u is also known for its community of endangered Hawksbill turtles and green turtles. We have seen as many as twenty of them at one time basking in the sun on the beach! Coconut palms line the beach and provide lovely shady spots for relaxing and picnicking. Swimming at Punalu’u is possible but is not recommended if the surf is high.

Richardson’s Beach and Ocean Park is a wonderful spot for swimming, snorkeling and picnicking. The beach is protected by a natural lava rock seawall making it a great place to take children. As well as the salt water pools there are several spring-fed freshwater ponds. They are icy! Dipping into one of them makes for a refreshing experience extraordinaire!

Volcano Village Farmers Market takes place every Sunday from 6:00am-10:00am at Cooper Center, located on the cross of Wright Road and Kilauea Road a five-minute drive or a 20-minute walk away. This market is the social event of the week for locals who gather to shop, eat, and chat. Cooper Center also has a playground, and a small thrift store/used bookstore which is open during the market and weekday mornings from 8 to 11:30.

The course is 18 holes, par 72, a total of 6,547 yards of playing area. It's also a great place to see nene, the Hawaiian goose - they are almost always present grazing on the fairways. The course is located in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, less than a 10 minute drive from Fiddlehead House.
