Not sure how to categorise this one :-) Restaurant/Bar/Music Venue in a former factory building. A bit off the tourist track, and quite typical Zürich. More a summer option as most of the seats are outside, beside the lake. Interesting graffiti.

Want to buy your sausage by the meter? Zeughauskeller is a restaurant in the old armory, just off Bahnhofstrasse. A beer and hearty food place which is definitely aimed at tourists, but all the tourists i've taken there have liked it a lot. I do too.

They do a good (if expensive) cocktail here, but the main reason to visit is that they have probably the best view of the city. Entrance is via a lift, which you access from inside the Brasserie Lipp.

Parks & Nature

Hike up from Triemli (or take the S10 train) to the hotel Uto Kulm. Once up you have great views of the city and lake. From there you can also hike quite far along the ridge south.

Hint: Walk upstream to Dynamo Cafe....jump in the water....float back down to the wooden platform....get out....lie in the sun....repeat. Don't go past the wooden platform, because death.
