We have a brand new swimming and sports centre a five-minute walk from the holiday home with a children's pool, a main pool, a gym, courts to book etc.
Just check before you go that you don't have to book for swimming or other activities (as this has sometimes been the case during COVID restrictions). Check the timetables too to ensure the facilities are open to all (as they occasionally block out for lessons etc).

We have a small, independent cinema on our doorstep (a 15-20 minute one-mile walk along the seafront). It is very traditional and it very reasonably priced (especially compared to the big chains).

Mewsbrook Park is right next door to the house. There is a cafe, pedalo hire, a park and a big green area.
There is also a miniature railway with a train that stops at the crazy golf / coffee shop half a mile along the prom.

The East Beach Cafe is housed in a really unusual building on the seafront about half a mile from the house. It serves fish and chips and ice cream (plus dog ice cream!) from the booth but is also a sit-down fish restaurant. It is very nice!
Booking is recommended if you want to sit inside, although there is a big decking area that you can sit at if you get food from the hatch. Dogs are welcome on the decking but not in the restaurant.

Grub & Gumption is our favourite cafe, situated a couple of miles walk along the seafront in East Preston. The coffee is great (ask for the Edgecumbes blend) and the food is really fresh and tasty. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is great in this part of East Preston.

This Tapas restaurant is brilliant. Great food, great atmosphere, a bar at the front and large restaurant at the back.
You'll definitely have to book as it is very popular.

Arundel is truly historic with beautiful buildings, a cathedral, a castle, and many shops, cafes and restaurants.
There are also lovely walks around Swanbourne lake and another along the river and there is the wildfowl and wetlands to visit.
