Great spot to check out if you are in town on Thursday night. They have a happy hour from 5-8pm in The Cellar (which is a super cool art gallery in the basement). A historic post office turned event center with tons of quirk and appeal.

Walk, hike, bike or horse back ride on the 45 miles of trails on this 5,500 acre land trust. Canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and star gazing are a few of the other activities to partake in at the space.

Forest Park Museum was originally developed in the
1940s by Eugene Hastie, a local farmer, historian,
and author. Mr. Hastie was a private collector of
objects from Dallas County’s past and when local
residents heard about his collection, they often
donated objects of their own. In 1953, Mr. Hastie
opened his museum to the public, so that others
might see and learn from his large collection.
