About 3 miles north of Arlington is The Equinox Mountain Skyline Drive where you can motor to the summit and enjoy breathtaking views of Vermont and New York State. At the top of the mountain, there is a short easy trail to a view of Manchester. There is a gift shop at the base of the mountain.

If you don't feel like hiking, take the windy drive up Equinox Mountain to see expansive views of 5 different states. You will need to pay a small fee (per car and per person) at the base. Pro tip: prioritize this on a clear day and make sure to adjust your gears when you are going back down the mountain to save your brakes. Open from Memorial Day to October 31st!

There are several marked Hiking Trails near the Barn in Bennington VT and a short drive away. Drive to the summit of Mt. Equinox and enjoy several marked trails. There are many marked Appalachian Trails in Bennington, Manchester, Arlington, Peru area. Drive into Somerset Reservoir (10 miles off the road be prepared- enjoy the resevoir and many trails).

The view from the top of Mt. Equinox is breathtaking. Owned by Carthusian Monks, the mountain has a very interesting history.
