It has been converted into a most original one bedroom cottage set in the stunning hidden valley of Grisedale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. It offers wonderful views, solitude, great walking and is close to many places of interest. Grisedale is about 3 miles from the famous Settle/Carlisle railway and the station of Garsdale. It is just off the A684 between the lively towns of Hawes, 8 miles (home of Wensleydale cheese), and Sedbergh, 7 miles. The nearest pub, serving good food and a selection of real ales, is about 2 miles away. Grisedale was once famous as the ’The Dale that Died’ after the book and TV documentary of 1975, but is now a beautiful setting for a peaceful holiday in wonderful, natural surroundings. The area is a paradise for bird watchers with birds of prey, owls, curlew, oystercatchers, lapwing and grouse. Wildlife includes red squirrel, stoat, hare and deer. There is fantastic walking potential with the cottage being close to the Pennine Way, the Three Peaks and the Howgill Fells. The Ingleborough area provides all the wonders of limestone scenery with its caverns and potholes, and the Lake District is only a short drive away.
