An idyllic countryside farmhouse, nestled between two pristine rivers and over 1500 acres of national park. Built in 1850, and renovated in 2015, this farmhouse has the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern luxury, and is a designated historical landmark in New York state. Home features include wood burning hot tub, handmade furniture, French linen, oversized bathtub, original artworks throughout the home, shaded patio, fire pit, and so much more. The home is also a three-minute walk to hiking trails, the river, and waterfalls. The first floor of our farmhouse features: a hand-made Dutch door entrance, an oversized gas fireplace, local antique furniture from nearby towns, a bookshelf of artfully collects titles, a vinyl record player (and yes — an Alexa as well), a comfy sofa and a huge dinning room table that can fit up to 12 people. Outside the living room, we have a private reading room with high-end furniture and plenty of plants; which is a sun-drenched space for reading, relaxation or working. The kitchen is antique in all ways but one: all the appliances have been modernized, and we have every piece of equipment you’ll ever need. As you move upstairs, you’ll find a day bed and another desk for reading or writing. This splits off to the master bathroom which features a glass shower, two sinks, and the perhaps the largest bathtub you could imagine. The master bedroom has a king bed and various decorative antiques, as well as a view of the mountains outside. The second bedroom has a full bed and is filled with art and antiques. While the house is a real joy, it’s just a small part of the package. Take one step outside the door and miles upon miles of hiking trails and swimming spots are right there for you. Our whole home is open to you. However, we typically lock the laundry room; but are happy to open it for you at no extra cost. We’re always available to help you whether it be by phone, email, or in-person. The farmhouse is located in the Valley of Spas or Glen Spey, only 90 minutes from New York City. Natural beauty abounds right outside the house with numerous lakes, rivers, brooks, and waterfalls just a quick walk or drive away. The charming towns of the Catskills: Port Jervis, Narrowsburg, Barryville, and Livingston Manor are a scenic drive away. The farmhouse is about 80 miles from New York City, starting from the George Washington Bridge. It's an easy and scenic drive from the city. Getting here by train? The house is 12 minutes from the Port Jervis train station. You can take the New Jersey Transit from Penn Station to Port Jervis, which is also about 2-hour ride. This is one of the best places to hike in the area. You walk 100 yards here and you’ll find yourself on a private trial to a waterfall; walk the other way and you’ll find yourself on 4 mile hike along the Mongaup River. Head yet another way and go on a great hike through the ridge with great views of the mountains . That’s all walking distance! The farmhouse is on 120+ acres. It's located right next to a huge waterfall and a river. The waterfall is 1 minute walk and the river is a quick hike from the house. It's also close to all the best restaurants, farmers markets, trails and various lakes/rivers. The property also has various hiking trails available only to guests.
