If you and your kids like the hum of the Souq but not the labyrinth, then take the Rue Riad Zitoun el Kdim. This runs from Jemaa el-Fna Square at this point to le Place des Ferblantiers . It has much of the life and colour of the main event but is a single linear street and without quite the same risk of getting lost. It is also on the way to the Bahia Palace and the El Badii Palace.

This is not a “modern” design store but it certainly deserves a mention. It is easy to miss the entrance to this shop but, once inside, you will be speechless. Here you can find all the objects and furniture of the Moroccan tradition that you might want for your house. Four floors where you can literally get lost, where rugs, fabrics, ceramics, baskets, lamps, tables, chairs and antiques fill up the space from floor to ceiling. I warn you: leaving the store empty-handed is impossible!

Dress Code
We would like to remind you that Morocco is a Muslim country, therefore as a mark of respect for its inhabitants it is highly recommended to avoid short dresses and shorts, as well as bare belly, low-cut tops, or anything too revealing (especially in the old city). Also it is very inappropriate to eat or smoke in the street in the daytime during the month of Ramadan (dates vary every year ).
