The River Emporium! If you’re looking for that charming little spot between Swift Rapids and the Big Chute Marine Railway, then you have arrived! Boaters that are working their way through the 30 scenic km of the Severn Waterway, have enjoyed the convenience of The River Emporium Liquor and Beer selection. This location was one of the first LCBO agency contracts issued in the province. We continue to provide a wide selection of beer, wine and spirits to this day. The River Emporium Ice Cream Parlour is the must stop for the kids when you are at the cottage. Our energetic staff and Kawartha Dairy offerings make each trip to the River Emporium a summer memory.

Boaters that are working their way through the 30 scenic km of the Severn Waterway, have enjoyed the convenience of The River Emporium Liquor and Beer selection. This location was one of the first LCBO agency contracts issued in the province. We continue to provide a wide selection of beer, wine and spirits to this day. “The Big Chute Marine Railway” This is the only one of its kind in North America. This engineered marvel physically lifts the boats out of the water and over a hill on a track system, before launching them back into the water where they can continue their journey.
If you have never witnessed this phenomenon, it is highly recommended that you make the trip at least once. Give the Big Chute a try if you have your own personal boat or are renting one for the weekend.
