It is a major staging area for migrating shorebirds in the Pacific Flyway. Up to one million shorebirds gather here in spring and fall to feed and rest, as well as Bald Eagles, hawks and wren's. It is only a 3.8 mile, 8 min. drive to experience the roughly 2 mile, out and back, trail.
