If you're going to go to a dive bar, this is the one. It's not really a dive bar, well, OK it is, but it's friendly (and dog-friendly) the drinks are cheap, and the juke box is the. best. ever. Live music every night, FREE! Also an excellent pool table, with mostly excellent players to watch.

The Hot Club is one reason why I love Providence. What other city has a mom and pop bar right on the water? Sit on the deck and watch the sunset. Go ahead and have a burger—they're handmade and charcoal grilled. Fun fact: At 8 pm the regulars go out on the deck to shine their phones at the kids in Hasbro Children’s Hospital. They found out that the nurses tell the kids they have to go to bed when the Hot Club sign comes on so now every night they flash good night across the river ❤️

Craft cocktails, beer, wine in a jewel-box bar and the best urban patio! Short drive from our house. My advice is walk there OR drive down Main Street and park near the pedestrian bridge and walk over to Tiny Bar. There are lots of other bars in that neighborhood and the pedestrian bridge walk is so nice!

Small venue with wonderful Live music just over the Henderson Bridge in East Providence (which is a separate city and not to be confused with where we live on the east SIDE of Providence 🙂) Myrtle is wonderful. You should go there.

One of the reasons I moved here was RISD. I'm not affiliated with it, but I knew it had to add so much to the community just by being here. And it does. Go to the Museum and see for yourself.

This is such a great example of how Providence has given new life to its waterfront. The bridge goes from South Main Street (easy walk from the RISD and Brown campuses) to the up-and-coming Jewelry District across the Providence River. A wonderful stroll, the bridge has seating, plants, chessboards, and the occasional musician. In the East Side, stop in at the Wild Colonial, Andino’s, or the vegan food hall, Plant City, and then stroll across to the bars and restaurants of the Jewelry District—Dune Brothers, Xaco Taco, Cav, Nick A Nees, the Landing, Tiny Bar, Seven Stars bakery, Needle & Thread cocktails.
