Sightseeing
Batu Caves is a limestone cave (abt 400 million yrs old) some 8 km away (15 -20mins) .It is a tourist attraction (nature , art & culture lovers) as well as a place of worship for the Hindus. A stunning 43 m high stature of Lord Murugan in gold stands on the right side beside the steps to the cave entrance. On the extreme left is Ramayana cave which depicts the story of Ramayana in the manner of chronicles as a mural art on the irregular limestone walls of the cave. There is also a Dark cave rich with rock formations , flowstones, stalagmites & stalactites. You can also do rock climbing on the Ne side of batu caves. There are about 272 colorful steps to go the top. From the top , one can see a nice view of parts of the city and there's also a temple at the top. Do enjoy the refreshing coconut drink and yummy rotis at the base of the cave. There's also souvenior shops & a mini zoo & a fish pond with tortoises. Beware of monkeys though. plenty of instagrammable pictures to take.

The National Zoo is some 1 km & a short walk away. its open daily from 9am to 5 pm. Home to some 476 species of animals. Theres also a giant Panda conservation centre, animal shows, a lake etc. its a nice walk and there are resting places along the way.
