Parks & Nature
Lace your sneakers and hit the tracks because a wander through Noosa National Park delivers some mighty fine views. The most popular trail is the Coastal Track, which runs – you guessed it – along the coast, in all its sparkling turquoise glory.
To experience a mix of landscapes, however (and to escape the midday heat), head off the Coastal Track near Hell’s Gates (2.7kms from the main car park) and make a peaceful return along the Tanglewood Track through the forest.
For a short 1km walk through the trees, loop around the Palm Grove Circuit just before the Boiling Pot lookout. The trails are well signed.

Great walk that is only 10 minutes from our house. It is a gradual incline but well worth it.

Allow 1½ hours for the return walk. It will take 45 minutes to reach the summit and 30 minutes to get back down to the car park.
The first part of the track is a pleasant stroll through native bushland and forest. The path then becomes quite steep as it traverses the rock face, so pause for a while to catch your breath and snap a photo of the breathtaking coastal views. Take care when the rocky part of the track towards the top of the mountain - it can be very slippery when wet. Stay on the designated tracks and stay clear of the cliff edges.
At 208 metres, the summit of Mount Coolum offers panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast. To the east, coastal views stretch from Double Island Point

Sightseeing
It is a favourite with locals and visitors for morning walks along the river, with or without your well-behaved dog enjoying his walk on a lead. The footpaths are paved in an attractive, winding, fashion. Stop at one of the many benches and enjoy the local wildlife, pelicans in the river and myriad birds in the trees.
People flock to the river to use the barbecues for a picnic or grab fish and chips and eat at one of the many tables. Close to sunset it's common to see people wander down and sit enjoying a bottle of wine while waiting for the sunset. Those sunsets can be stunning and are never the same twice. As sunset approaches huge numbers of rainbow lorikeets fly in from their daily feed
