The Laguna Rosada extends from Telchac Puerto to Puerto Progreso. It owes its name to that, at some times of the year, its waters are dyed that color due to the large concentrations of artemia a small crustacean that serves as food for the flamingos. It is one of the main sites to observe these birds.
