We are so lucky where we are - just a few miles from Arbroath so there is a wide choice of places to suit your taste whatever it is. We've listed just a few below, we hope you enjoy them too

This is a wonderful café on the West Port open from 9am for coffees but they serve lovely light lunches throughout the day and stock a wide variety of flavoured teas. They make the most delicious cakes too and are so popular you are better to book if you are going for lunches.

Castles, Museums and Historial Buildings
Angus with its wealth of history is full of Castles and Arbroath of course has its own Abbey.
Arbroath Abbey is most famous for its involvement in the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Although mostly ruins, a visitor centre has been built with a viewing gallery and impressive display. There is a model of what it is thought the Abbey looked like originally and films are shown. You can relax after your walk of the grounds in their café or visit the shop.

We are very lucky where we are located and have our own estate walks. If you want to go a little further, there are so many other options.
Lunan Bay is only a 10 minute car journey from Kinblethmont but is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Red Castle overlooks the beach and there is a café and small shop near the car park. Why not take a picnic and spend the day paddling and building sand castles.

There are many walks around the cliffs in Arbroath. You can walk all the way to Auchmithie from here. It takes about 2 hours, so why not stop at the But 'n' Ben for a coffee or lunch before getting a taxi back to your car again.

Pitmuies House is only about 10 minutes drive away and open April to October. The gardens are beautiful to walk around. Dogs are welcome, but need to be kept on leads.

St Cyrus Beach and Nature Reserve is a short drive in the car. Its a beautiful reserve with an abundance of flowers, butterflies and birds which leads onto a natural sandy beach

Golf and Fishing or boat trips
Angus is abundant with some of Scotlands best golf course and we are lucky to have so many on our doorstep. For those who prefer to fish, there is plenty of choice for you too.
Just a short drive away is the e world famous Carnoustie Golf Course which has a choice of 3 courses and they have simulators available too. Booking is essential.

Right at the front, the fun park has something for everyone - from the paddling pool to the childrens play park as well as tennis courts, crazy golf and mini racetrack . At peak times, you can go aboard the miniature railway which runs along the main railway line. There is a snackbar and picnic area - so you can easily spend the whole day there.

The reserve attracts 50,000 birds every year. There is an interactive display and excellent telescopes that allow you to see the birds - and seals - that can be found in the basin. There are regular seasonal activities but opening hours are limited over winter.
