I recommend Wild Wing's Bar because the drinks are inexpensive compared to any other bar in the area - the beer is really cold, $5.00 cans on Mondays, and the staff and management are soooo nice. This is a neighbourhood watering hole. TVs all around and you can ask if you want to watch something in particular - sports related - they are great about that. You may also send your spotify list to their speakers so often the music can be fun (when there isn't an important game on). Wings (best thing on the menu) are discounted on Tuesdays with the purchase of a bev. Eat in only

This is a NEW bar a 3 minute walk from the house - at King and Niagara...ignore the listed address. It opened with a bang and has been busy ever since. Great sports bar - TVs are many and well situated. Opening specials have been terrific - not sure how long they will last though.

Getting Around
Not much choice here for car rentals. Liberty Village location. 120 Lynn Williams. Please ask me and I have a preferred suggestion - by way of going to Billy Bishop airport and renting there. Prices are better too. Enterprise is probably one of the worst car rental destinations in the city because of its ridiculously limited weekend hours (you can't return a vehicle when they are closed - there's no depository in place) but it is the only car rental that is so if you are in a pinch and if the hours work for you....

This restaurant is definitely a mainstay in Toronto. Been around forever. It was most definitely a special occasion restaurant but actually maybe not so much now. The food and wine list are high end! Delicious Thai food and gorgeous ambience. Highly recommend. 20 minute walk from the house or a quick taxi drive. You could take the King West streetcar or bus to Atlantic and then walk over as well...

NO LIQUOR LICENSE - Family owned and run I believe. They are so nice. The food is delicious. I hear they are NOT liquor licensed. I used to eat there frequently when I first moved into the neighbourhood in 2008. Nothing trendy,nothing too fancy but it's so good and you will enjoy. This place has stood the test of time and I do recommend it. They will deliver and you can take out. There's a flyer on the kitchen table.

The tequila offerings are probably the most extensive in the city. It's gorgeous inside...I understand you have to have a special invite. I can arrange that for you. Please just ask, I would be happy to.

Happy Hour is Mon - Thurs 3-5pm $3 wine for 6oz. Which is great but their wine is "on tap" so it's nothing special. Otherwise same wine is $1/oz! I recommend the lamb meatballs, mushroom pasta, Kale and Caesar salads. They are all fantastic.

This is the place to go for authentic Cuban coffee. It's a tiny gem with a take out window and small tables and chairs (I think 2 max) out front. Great music. A nice walk from the house - No more than 20 minutes. Love this atmosphere and real Cuban coffee is hard to find in Toronto.

I have searched high and low for a great restaurant to offer an old-fashioned breakfast + pancakes in our neighbourhood. I did find one (The Barn) but it met its covid demise. So please try Stacked. Not a bad walk from the house,,,the menu looks scrumptuous and the prices are not out of line. Enjoy and do let me know!
