This was the location of the Northwest Company Fur Post from many years ago. The fur traders would canoe up and down the river to the fur post to trade their furs. When in the area we enjoy eating at the "Streetcar Pub"! They have outdoor seating with very good food and good service too! They get bycylists as there is a bycycle trail along side the Pub. Pokegama Lake is 1521 square acres recreational Lake with 10 miles of shoreline starting right outside! Pokegama Creek is around our point going East. Plus the Snake River runs on the South end of the lake and connects to Cross Lake also in Pine City. Right outside your door is Pokegama Lake with lots of fun things as to do including swimming, fishing, and boating too!

This place is so close (7.8 miles door to door) and the drive is beautiful with farmland views. In addition to great wine this is a family owned well designed place with fun friendly people. Online you are invited to walk through the vineyard, or stroll around the pheasant & peacock pens. They also have a resident potter who will be happy to show you her process. They harvest and sell raw honey and also have an outdoor pizza fireplace too! Just for fun, tell them Jeanette (the Maple syrup lady) sent you! Check them out for current days, times, and events. As of May of 2020 they have curb side pick up available and are very careful to be safe with no contact at all. They are friendly at a very safe distance and put my order (ordered and paid for on line) in my trunk! Check their hours ahead of heading out. I would love to hear your experiences here. (7.8 miles)
