Places to visit

Whether you like relaxing on the beach, surfing, walking or visiting places of interest, there is plenty to do in Cornwall.
Looe is approximately 30 minutes away by car. There are lots of tourist shops to wander round and plenty of places to eat. The beach is safe for youngsters and the kids can go crabbing off the quay. There are boat rides out to sea for a bit of fishing and coastal paths if you want to go for a cliff walk and take in the views.

I grew up surrounded by the clay pits and hills of St Austell so to see something spectacular like the biomes of the Eden Project making good use of some of them is great. Each biome has a different plant environment which you can walk around. It is about a 40 minute drive.

This is the nearest beach to us - about 20 minutes away by car depending on the traffic. It has a fresh water pool and a river running down to the sea. There is a beach cafe which serves meals all day and ice cream. It is dog friendly all year round. When the tide is out there is a large area for rock pooling

Plymouth is a 30 minute drive away, across the Tamar Bridge in Devon. It has a lovely 'Barbican' by the water, overlooking the mariner where you can sit and eat. There is a Lido for swimming. Fishing and boat trips leave from the mariner, where you can find Drakes steps where the Mayflower left for America. The Hoe overlooks the Barbican and is a pleasant green open space with a lighthouse where you can have a picnic or just soak up the views.
