Wells-next-the-Sea is a beautiful seaside village with a beach and harbour (voted top 20 best Seaside Towns by Which?). From the harbour (where crabbing is a must) you can either walk, take the miniature railway or drive to the spectacular beach with its famous array of colourful beach huts. Stop at the Beach Cafe afterwards for a drink and snack - you can also hose down a sandy dog! Wells has a pretty, leafy green peaceful square,The Buttlands, which is surrounded by fine Georgian buildings. There is a bustling high street with all kind of independent shops [including a butcher, fishmonger, baker, grocer, and handmade icecream shop!], some lovely tearooms, great gastro pubs and restaurants. Our favourite is the Golden Fleece. If you love walking and birdwatching this area is a must. Beautiful Holkham Hall is a lovely round walk along the beach. And, don't forget to reward yourself after a busy day, with sundowners on The Albatros sailing boat and the best fish and chips in the area at French's.
