Groceries
GROCERIES:
You will find a welcome gift ‘basket’ upon your arrival. Help yourself! It will provide you some light breakfast items to get you through at least the first day of your stay. These items may vary from time to time including fruit, juice, protein bars, or cereal. And you can count on tea and coffee with some organic half & half in the fridge!
If you need to go grocery shopping, there is a small grocer in Victor called Victor Valley Market, and in Driggs there is a large supermarket called Broulims, and a natural food market called Bins & Barrels. There is also a farmer’s market held on Main Street in Driggs on Fridays, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The market season is from early June through the first week of October.

Temperatures
Temperatures vary greatly both between seasons and within a single day! We have an expression here, “If you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes.” Whichever season marks your visit, we recommend being prepared with layers and gear for the worst-case scenario! Generally speaking temperatures average between 19 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit in winter, low 30s to upper 40s in the spring, upper 60s to mid-80s (with an occasional over 90-degree temperature) in the summer to lower 50s to upper 20s in the fall.
*Please be advised that ANY outdoor activity in Teton Valley, Idaho or Wyoming is BIG adventure. The weather can change at any time, wildlife is truly wild and our backcountry is expansive. The outfitter links provided below are just for your reference. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE to do your own homework, ensuring they have proper safety protocols and current certifications in place!

With Jackson Hole just “over the hill” and its majestic Grand Teton National Park as the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, you are only a stone’s throw away from any physical activity imaginable while in Victor. The nearby Targhee National Forest allows outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy backpacking, fishing, mountain biking, and hunting while providing exquisite vistas for those who just want to take a hike to enjoy wildlife and lush scenery. Bordered by Teton Springs on the south and Teton Reserve on the north, Victor has incredible options for golf. Streams teaming with four different types of trout are available for fishing and fly fishing. And our big water rivers that span Idaho and Wyoming offer some of the best white-water rafting and kayaking! For winter fans, Victor is close to a number of world-class ski resorts and backcountry terrain, as well as groomed cross-country ski trails, and endless snowmobiling opportunities.

Hiking:
Some of my favorites:
A short excursion to nearby Darby Wind Caves delights visitors with waterfalls splashing down the canyon rim and provides hikers with a refreshing break. And if waterfalls are your thing, schedule a trip to Mesa Falls, located on the Henry’s Fork of the Snake River. Or for a lazy day, take a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain at Grand Targhee Resort and enjoy breathtaking views of the Jedediah Smith Wilderness area from the Teton viewing area.
*DON”T FORGET your Bear Spray!

Misc:
Rent some ATV’s and explore deep woods and high mountain vistas without all the effort! My favorite area to do this is in Alpine, WY up Greys River Road— endless miles of backcountry with the Palisades Reservoir for a chilly cool-down.
For a mellow day, grab some paddleboards and inner tubes and enjoy the lazy part of the Snake River between Driggs and Victor! Or sign up for a guided nature walk in Grand Teton National Park!
