A very beautiful walk a stones throw away from the cottage (Turn left out the gate and take first left down 'School Brae' - just past 'Bright Horizions' nursery). Turning left at the bottom of the road will take you to the waterfall. If you continue on this route, you will eventually come to Almond Bridge (there are two sets of steep steps to consider). Behind the horses field is another playpark. If you cross the bridge you will find 'Miller and Carter Steakhouse'. Turning right at the bottom of the road will take you to Cramond Beach / Island. En route you will find 'Cramond Falls Cafe'.

Cramond Beach is a great place to walk, cycle or simply relax. There is a large carpark at the bottom of 'Cramond Glebe Road' but its easier to go on foot via the River Almond Walkway (see description). The 'Cramond Gallery Bistro' (at harbour) is a lovely place to get a tea and cake. The promenade is 4 miles long.
