Parking is $5 for the entire day. Enjoy the beach and have a picnic or walk across the bridge and have lunch at Upper Deck. Bring your own kayaks and launch from here. The top of the spring is 6 miles. You can kayak as far up as you would like and back down. You can also kayak out to mud river and out to the Gulf.

Dames Cave/Peace Cave - 7 miles - 3.5 - 4 hours (leave from campground)
• Get your flashlight out and prepare to get your knees dirty. Dames Cave - climb down into it and crawl into a side chamber. Explore the surrounding small adjoining sinks. Peace Cave ('IF" Forestry has it open.) You have to be agile enough to climb/drop into it. It's not for everyone.There have been safety issues at Peace Cave in the past. Limited to 5 - 10 minutes.

301 Darby LnLocated a quick 25 miles north of Weeki Wachee is the charming fishing village of Homosassa, and within the town is the historic Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins State Park. Established in 1851 by David Levy, this 5,000 acre sugar cane plantation is now a state park. The ruins of the sugar mill are interesting to explore, and the park offers some great hiking and bird watching.

See Florida's animal species in their natural habitat at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. After reaching the visitor center, you can take a scenic boat ride to the center of the park, or opt for a shorter tram ride. The park is dedicated to the preservation of local wildlife, including a variety of birds and smaller animals, as well as bears, deer, otters, alligators, and crocodiles. It is also the center of the renowned manatee preservation program, and these gentle giants are the park’s star residents. See the manatees up close thanks to the underwater observatory. On warm days, you can pet and feed the manatees, but on cold days they stay submerged to preserve their heat.
