About a 5 minute drive from Mirrabella, we highly recommend checking out the view from Govetts Leap Lookout, which is one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. The magnificent waterfall drops a whopping 180m to the base of the cliff. The ‘ozone-laden’ air of the Blue Mountains was promoted as a health tonic since the early 1800s, and when you get there, you’ll realise why.
The following walks all begin at the lookout: Fairfax Heritage walking track, Govetts Leap descent, Pulpit walking track and Cliff Top walking track.

Less than 10 mins drive from the house, it’s a great base for adventurous bushwalkers who want to get amongst it.
From this location, step out on the moderately challenging Cliff Top walking track along the valley rim to Govetts Leap lookout. For the rare chance to experience canyoning without the need for all the gear, allow half a day for the Grand Canyon track.

Evans Lookout
A brilliant introduction to the wonders of Blue Mountains National Park, Evans lookout offers breathtaking views towards Grose Valley, especially with the sandstone cliff walls glowing orange at sunset. Less than 10 mins drive from the house, it’s a great base for adventurous bushwalkers who want to get amongst it.

The path winds over gentle slopes, skirting the edge of a unique hanging swamp. The path opens up to forests of peppermint and scribbly gums dotted with grass trees. In early summer, you may see the vibrant red flowers of waratahs, as well as many other colourful wildflowers. Nearing the cliffs at George Phillips and Govetts Leap lookout, enjoy expansive valley views taking in Govetts Gorge and Jungle Falls.

While you're in the Blue Mountains, it's definitely worth a visit to the world famous Jenolan Caves, where you can easily spend an entire day exploring any of the 9 caves, bushwalks, underground activities and historic cafe. They offer guided tours, multi-lingual self-guided tour, children's tours and night tours, including the popular 'Legends, Mysteries & Ghosts' tour. If you're a bit more adventurous, you can also try adventure caving.
