Nature around DC
DC has some wonderful places to enjoy nature. You can hike, enjoy water sports or ride your bicycle.
The Billy Goat Trail is a real adventure and sports! Its is climbing up and down over rocks for 1-2 hours with beautiful sights on the Potomac.
Section C, a 1.7 mile loop that returns to the C&O Canal at Mile 10.9, is the easiest of the three sections, although there are still a few rock outcroppings to traverse. The trail offers outstanding views of the Potomac River, and a small waterfall. It’s beautiful for both spring wildflowers and fall colors.

The W&OD trail is an easy trail that you can ride sportive and fast or relaxed with a family. It goes through pretty nature and charming citycenters where you can stop and have a coffee. Starting in Shirlington today I went through Arlington, Falls Church, Fairfax, Vienna to visit a friend in Reston. The way back took me just 90 minutes going between 16 and 18 miles per hour.
