This is a gorgeous walk that will soothe the soul and take you in to the depth of New Zealand's native forrest. With lookout points along the way and gorgeous views over the dam, we highly recommend this walk.

If you want to see the Waitakere region from above but don't want to venture too far away from Kauriviews, we suggest a walk to The Landing walkway at the end of Grendon road cul-de-sac, which comes off South Titirangi road.
This is one of our favourite walks on the weekend as we can look at the often quirky and cosy homes on the road, and get some amazing views from The Landing platform.
Estimated 1 hour walk in total. We suggest you turn around after going down the steps and head the same way back up again along the same roads to avoid traffic.

The Shed Collective Farmers Market, not too be considered with the oratia farmers market, at the foothills of the Waitakere Ranges and set beside the Artisan Wines vineyard, Oratia Farmers' Market is another great country market. If you are planning on heading west for the day, this is the perfect place to pick up some picnic nibbles.

This lovely store is great for those who are conscious about their enivornmental footprint and wanting to ensure they dont buy plastics etc. You ca stock up on most dry supplies of nuts, seeds, flours, coffee and other such things. They also sell milk, washing up products and nice cook books etc. that can be used for lovely gifts!
