My Favourite Places to Visit

Here is a list of places for great coffee, good treats, nice gift shops, fun things to do, great outdoor places to visit and more
Brand new Salmon Enhancement Center located on Sooke River Road. Walkways around Charters Streams to see Salmon habitat and a visit into the new salmon centre. Head further along past the old centre and enjoy a walk through the forest, as you enter one of the gateways into the fabulous wild Sooke Wilderness Hills. Strong walking shoes is a good idea.

Drive to the end of Sooke River Road and you will enter into a wonderful place of trails, hills, and the Sooke River Potholes Provincial Park. Always something going on...swimming in the summer, salmon spawning in the fall, whitewater during the spring, and big rain in the winter...and the water is not cold, just fresh!

Sooke's biggest secret is one of Vancouver Island's largest wilderness areas now under conservation and in our backyard. Deep forests, big trees, wild flowers, fantastic wildlife. Head to the Sooke Potholes Regional Park, parking lot 2 and enjoy a walk along the Galloping Goose. If you decide to head off the Galloping Goose, park trails are not maintained and serious walking equipment and gear is a must.

Sightseeing

While I do have some brochures in the Seaflora Suite for local beaches and trails, the Sooke Regional Museum on Sooke River Road has serious info about our parks and unique visiting places. They are helpful and gift shop is a cute compilation of local crafts, arts and unusual gifts.
