Lieux emblématiques
The city’s original site, the Castle Hill once boasted a reputedly impregnable citadel that was entirely dismantled by the soldiers of the French King Louis XIV in 1706. There’s a lovely parc up top where you can enjoy iconic views of Nice on one side of the hill & the Port on the other side. Our flat is right at the foot of the park entrance...

Parking in Nice
Parking isn't free anywhere in downtown Nice and the Old Town is mostly full of narrow walking streets with the few driveable roads only open to residents. There are a number of secure underground parking lots in the Old Town that cost around 24€-30€/24 hours and ~10€/night. You can park in any of the streets around the Old Town for free at night, but between 9am-8pm you’ll have to feed the meter every 2 hours, which you can do from afar using the PayByPhone app.
