Beautiful drive to Portavadie to visit the marina/spa or restaurant for some lunch. The drive will probably take 45 minutes to 1 hour. After lunch you could take the ferry across to Tarbert and check out the small fishing village or you could drive for 15 mins or so to Ostel Bay. You need to park up on the side of a narrow country road and walk 15/20 mins to the beach but it is so worth it! Ostel Bay is simply stunning. This crescent-shaped sweep of sand is the jewel in the crown of Argyll’s Secret Coast. Walk over the dunes and the beach stretches out ahead of you with Arran on the horizon. On a sunny day it’s the perfect place to spend the day, paddling, sun-bathing and swimming. It’s a good walk along the length of the beach, and there are plenty of opportunities for beach combing – look out for the lovely shells.
