Sightseeing
Airline Trail
The old railroad track has become a State Park hiking trail and there is a well-maintained private trail through the Little House’s Big Woods that leads right to it. Or, you can ride a bike or a car to any of the access points in town (Elliott’s Station, Abington Station, Pomfret Station, etc.)
Great hiking, camping, swimming and historic location where the last wolf in CT was killed by General Israel Putnam, very nearby. The hike to the Wolf Den is a short walk, quite rocky, but an easy hike for children from the entrance and a historic location - highly recommended. The Indian Chair is a little further, for the more ambitious.
