Parks & Nature

Welcome to the magic of Bruce Peninsula National Park. The stunning views along the Niagara Escarpment are not to be missed. The Grotto, Indian Head Cove and the Rock Beach are naturally magical. Dramatic cliffs rise from the turquoise waters of Georgian Bay. In large tracts of forest, black bears roam and rare reptiles find refuge in rocky areas and diverse wetlands. Ancient cedar trees spiral from the cliff-edge; a multitude of orchids and ferns take root in a mosaic of habitats.

Named Singing Sands because of the sound you hear from the wind whistling through the dunes. This large sand beach is a part of Bruce Peninsula National Park close to Tobermory. It is on the Lake Huron side of the Peninsula and is home to trails and a fen which blooms with orchids and carnivorous wildflowers in spring.

Great beach for families. Warm, shallow water with sandy beach, perfect for children of all ages, especially toddlers. Playground and washrooms on site. My favourite destination for world class sunsets!

Access to the Bruce Trail for more stunning views along the cliffs of the Niagara Escarpment. The Hope Bay Lookout Trail should not be missed. Hope Bay features the Jack Poste Side Trail, an easy, but longer, 4-kilometre loop; it is here that you’ll uncover the site of the popular Glacial Potholes, created by a late stage of glaciation. Meltwaters running over the Escarpment created small eddies that eventually carved these potholes out of the bedrock. The glacial potholes are near where the main trail again joins the Jack Poste Side Trail. This trail features an abundance of trilliums in May.
