Between Byrnes restaurant and the Cheese Press cafe on Main Street, take a walk under the arch and see the waterfall which can be quite spectacular after rain. Follow the path along the river past the Falls Hotel. It’s very peaceful - full of birds and the odd jumping trout or salmon. Pop into the hotel on your way back for some refreshment. The hotel was once owned by the MacNamara family, one of whom, Caitlín was married to the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. There are some photos of them in the entrance hall. The view of the cascades from the hotel bar is a sight to behold.
