This should be a ‘must do’ when visiting Cape Town. Set aside at least a full morning, but I recommend you make it a day trip. Arrive early to beat the queues and choose a sunny windless day to visit. Use the cable car both ways or choose to walk up PLatteklip Gorge and use the cable car down. The walk is steep and you need to be fit. Allow for 2,5 to 3 hours to get to the top.
On top, make sure to explore the paths - you have views in all directions that give you w wonderful perspective of Table Bay and the mountain range stretching to Cape Point.

Arrive early to beat the queues and choose a sunny windless day to visit. Use the cable car both ways or choose to walk up PLatteklip Gorge and use the cable car down. The walk is steep and you need to be fit. Allow for 2,5 to 3 hours to get to the top.
On top, make sure to explore the paths - you have views in all directions that give you w wonderful perspective of Table Bay and the mountain range stretching to Cape Point.

This is the premier ‘shoppertainment’ venue in Cape Town. It is situated on reclaimed land on the edge of the City CBD. With Table mountain as a backdrop, sunshine and sea frontage, set aside a whole day for this visit. It is an hour’s drive from the apartment.
This Beach is directly below the Apartment. It is a thin strip of beach that is best enjoyed in summer at low tide. The picture was taken in 2023, when trek fishermen (traditional artisanal fishermen) were hauling in a catch. A rare moment.

Simon’ Town is a Naval Base with a long history going back to the Dutch and British colonial periods. The architecture of the town still reflects this influence. It has eateries and quaint shops, a beach, yacht basin and occasionally a troop of baboons paying a visit!
