Dolphins in Forster/Tuncurry
Always keep a watch out for Dolphins, they come all the way into the bay under the bridge fishing....you can walk out to the breakwater on the Tuncurry (north side of the bridge) and watch them come in on the tide near sundown; or on the south side walk out past the Marine Rescue. Get some fish and chips from Forster’s Main Street and take a picnic.

Surf Beaches
Loads of surfing beaches around including Diamond Beach itself, although the break is small and short, it’s right on your doorstep. Or head south about 40min drive to Elizabeth Beach, Shelley Beach, Boomerang Beach, and Blueys Beach, pending weather - lovely beaches for families, very popular and good north break off Boomerang.

Take a boat on the lake
Forster Marina (also does a lovely breakfast right over the water), and Forster Houseboat hire rent out tinnies and little day boat, plus houseboats for use on the lakes waterways. Explore the lakes from a boat, check out the oyster beds, and watch the dolphins, take a bbq lunch and just enjoy a day on the water.
