Neighborhoods
Kill Devil Hill’s west-side is the Outer Banks’ best kept secret. The vibe is super mellow. You are literally in the middle of it all. The beach is only a half a mile east with beach accesses at almost every block. A good one to check out with easy parking is Hayman Street Beach Access. or Glenmere Street Beach Access (Home of the Little Red Mailbox).
If you head west and follow W. Aycock Street down the road you can bike or walk Bay Drive’s sound-side multi-use path. Enjoy the sweet sunset off the Hayman Pavillion or if you are feeling adventurous rent a kayak or stand-up paddle board for more sound side explorations. You can also launch a boat less than a mile away at nearby Dock Street. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Outer Banks.
