Dog Friendly

North Little Rock is affectionately known as “dogtown”. The name comes from the fact that people in Little Rock would cross the river to dump their stray dogs on the North side. Visit the NLR History Commission on Main Street to learn more about how this nickname that was once an insult has turned into a source of local pride.
