Decatur to the East- Springfield to the West
Springfield, IL - Wonderful historic sites to visit. Walk with family to see where Lincoln lived and practiced and then head to local brew pubs for some great food. For kids there is also great museums to visit and new children's museum with fun activities.
Also heading to New Salem can be an addition to your day.

Millikin University- visit the campus
Millikin University has a nice campus to visit and a strip of dining establishments that are unique. Nice neighborhood and often some great entertainment to see there as well.

We only have mini mart in the local town. Stopping for groceries in Decatur (Walmart, Krogers) or Springfield (HeyVee, Meyers). The mini mart has alcohol and pizza.
