Great Italian pizza! This is definitely a local favourite. Right in the heart of the village, Papi's fills the air with the sweet, irresistible aroma of freshly baked Italian pizza. Its a stones throw from the front so a great place to grab a take-away and head to the Mumbles promenade on a warm sunny evening....and then pop back for a Joes Ice cream (almost opposite Papi's) after. Open: Tues-Sat 5-9pm (times may change as covid restrictions lift). Also available for local delivery. https://www.papis-pizzeria.com/

The great family debate...Joe's or Verdi's? Ben and our eldest son are team Joes...claiming there's no competition because its 'just so creamy', Jodie and our youngest are Verdi's all the way with the variety of Italian style Gelato. You'll just have to give both a try and tell us what you think?

Having recently gained a Michelin Star, The Beach House at Oxwich Bay is definitely worth a visit if you fancy yourself a bit of a foodie - it does get busy so we recommend you book in advance. It is more high-end than most of the restaurants in the area, but the food, atmosphere and location, we would say, warrant the price jump. https://beachhouseoxwich.co.uk/

This is a relatively new addition to Mumbles. It’s a lovely (trendy) roof top bar, situated above Bistrot Pierre. With a beautiful view of the bay, Gin & Juice is great for a brunch, lunch or evening drinks. It’s become a firm favourite for locals. They don’t take bookings but it’s quite spacious inside so walk-in should be fine.

This is a great new edition to the growing Mumbles good scene…with a good selection of sushi, noodles and Ramen it’s a tasty and healthy option for an evening meal out or takeaway. It’s only a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. Definitely one of our favourites :)

Sightseeing

Rhossili Bay is regularly voted amongst the most beautiful beaches in the world, so definitely worth a visit. It is about 40 minutes drive with no traffic, and during peak times it can get pretty busy in the carpark so its best to try and get there early. During the winter months its equally beautiful but much quieter! You can either walk out along the headland (called Worms Head) or down the steep steps to the beach...both great walks.

Langland Beach is very popular and, if you like to walk, is walking distance from the cottage. You can walk around the coastal path to get there but its much quicker to cut across the back (up along Overland Road to Langland corner, down to Rotherslade beach and join the coastal path there). When the tide is out there is a large area of sand, some rock pools to explore and two eateries - The Langland Brasserie at one end which is a lovely sit-down restaurant, with a delicious cake selection and Surfside, which is a surf café with coffees, paninis, ice creams etc. Please check the restaurants opening times online:- Daily tide times can be found at : https://magicseaweed.com/Langland-Bay-Surf-Report/31/
