Once summer hits the crappie will hang on a brush pile to the east of the dock and head to deeper cooler water so it can get slow. Minnows and jigs work the best casting off the sides of the dock.

Use your favorite lures and cast away. In the summer they feed at night so your best luck will be at sunset, at sunrise and during the night. Hints, if you hear frogs toss a frog lure. When the water warms the fish like the cooler water and don't like to bake in the sun.

They are typically bottom feeders however I have caught plenty fishing with live bait on a bobber...
