People in Hornsea can’t speak highly enough of this cool joint on the Market Place. Wine is their thing but they do beers, spirits and cider to wash down cheese and charcuterie boards. Clean, dry, well behaved dogs are welcome. Vegans and gluten free customers catered for. Message the bar ahead and they’ll make sure they can offer you just what you’re after ☺️🍷🧀

Eastern fusion cuisine at its best. Look out for the special events they cater in their own venue and in others around town.

See and do
Check the tide times and then head down for sand, cobbles and groynes that make Hornsea unique. It’s perfect for walking, sitting, running, fishing, swimming, jet skiing and building sandcastles.
Ladies can look up the Hornsea Mermaids and join in for a dip in the bracing North Sea.
Hornsea Rescue and a Coastguard Watch station help visitors safely enjoy the sea.
PLEASE note tide times as it’s easy to be cut off by the rising waters.

My absolute favourite beach EVER but you really MUST check the tide times before walking any distance. This is the perfect walk across a glorious expanse of sand from Hornsea at low tide. You can eat cake in the tea rooms, and grab the bus back.
I also love to cycle here along a combination of the Transpennine Trail and country lanes.

Gorgeous Georgian town which grew as a tourist destination for pilgrims in the Middle Ages. Enjoy markets on a Wednesday and Saturday, stroll the busy shopping streets and enjoy refreshments at countless quality cafes bars and restaurants. The Minster is must-see but St Mary’s is also stunning and it sits opposite the wonderful coronation gardens. The historic Westwood pasture has its own entry.

This HUGE lake was left behind by the glaciers and has a fascinating history. Public footpaths only give you a few places to take in its magnificence so calling in to the boathouse to have a cuppa or rent a rowing boat is well worth it.

These guys appreciate your support and are always on hand for safety advice. You’ll find them at the corner of Hornsea Burton Road by the boat launch. They run a little cafe and shop in the boat launch building to help fund their vital lifesaving work.
Training is Thursday night if you want to watch them launch. It’s impressive stuff.

Please CHECK TIDE TIMES. The sea comes right up to the mud cliffs to the north and south of Hornsea. It’s fantastic to walk here but you must make sure you allow enough time to reach your destination or get back before the tide cuts you off. SWIM SHOES are necessary to stop a nasty weever fish sting. AVOID BOAT LAUNCH area if you are swimming. The other side of the groynes to the north and south is fine. Hornsea Rescue or the Coastwatch team can give proper advice.
