A pretty little village right on the pebble beach. Of real historical importance, it was here that American forces rehearsed for D-day during WW11. Behind the beach there is a nature reserve which as SSSI status.

A quaint and quirky market town which is world renowned for it’s fiercely independent high steet that is abuzz with cafes, restaurants and one-of-a-kind shops.
Once for the surfers amongst us, it is flanked by sanddunes and sits at the mouth of the river avon. Best reached earlier in the day as the single-track lane gets very busy, has a lovely little gastro bus and the Sloop Inn in the village is lovely too. However, it’s worth noting that there is a strong rip current, so be sure to swim between the flags.

Once for the surfers amongst us, it is flanked by sanddunes and sits at the mouth of the river avon. Best reached earlier in the day as the single-track lane gets very busy, has a lovely little gastro bus and the Sloop Inn in the village is lovely too. However, it’s worth noting that there is a strong rip current, so be sure to swim between the flags.
One of our favourites thanks to the crystal clear waters and the sun lasting long into the evening. Safe waters for swimming. We recommend parking at the Thurlstone end of the beach as the car park doesn’t fill up as quickly, but it’s certainly worth getting there early.

One of our favourites thanks to the crystal clear waters and the sun lasting long into the evening. Safe waters for swimming. We recommend parking at the Thurlstone end of the beach as the car park doesn’t fill up as quickly, but it’s certainly worth getting there early.
A good family beach, there is a good cafe for food throughout the day.
