Sightseeing

This is a local gem. There are a visitors centre with a historical exhibition describing the Ballycroy Area. It has information and stories about the people of this region, and the florna and fauna as well. There is a really nice coffee shop and a 2 km loop walk and a viewing location to view all of Blacksod Bay. Great for families and all visitors

The bangor trail it a walking route that would have been the main route from Bangor Erris to Newport across the Nephin Mountain Range. It would not have been a road as such, but a walking path for animals and people. In its current form, it is signposted and would be difficult to wander of its track. But it is advisable that you prepare yourself and make sure you have read the map and any other information available. Remember, the weather can change and a mist can come down. But if you have done your preparation and taken any advice available would will be well perpared.
