Lovely scenic stroll
From the centre of Cardiff bay follow the trail to the Cardiff Barrage - taking in the sea to your left and the bay to your right. You may see a yacht pass through the lock. Have a drink at the Custom house and then either walk back or catch a water bus back to where you started. There is a circular walk that is around 5 miles that you can take all around the bay - which is signposted.

Cardiff’s largest green park. This is where the local people come to hang out and enjoy the green space in the city centre. The park can be accessed by turning right out of the front door and walking to the end of New Zealand Road. Cross at the pedestrian crossing and then turn down past the Charity shop. Follow the road down for 500m until you get to the park. Turn left and then cross down to the river and keep left to stroll into the City Centre. Or turn right and walk up river for a different view of the suburbs.
This is also a cycle path which you can follow in either direction. There is also a cycle rent point at the entrance to the park.

Cycling
You are only 3 minutes by bike from the Taff trail. Turn right out of the house to the end of the road ( past the bollards). Cross the road - use the pedestrian crossing as the road is very busy) then turn right and the immediately left. Go down the hill and over the railway bride until the road ends ( you pass some city bikes here if you don’t have your bike and fancy a cycle). When you get to the river Taff (Tâf in Welsh) turn left towards the city or right away from the city. The route is well signposted. There is a lovely family friendly cycle as far as Tongwynlais - after this main roads have to be crossed so not really suitable for the youngest children.
It is mainly all off road. Well worth it.
