Hiking
Boy oh Boy! So Cape Town is renowned for all its hiking spots. We have compiled a list of hikes that we have completed. Please feel free to add some in. There are some of the touristy hikes as well as the local secret spots
A must if you in Cape Town.
If you look out your window to the left is Lion’s Head. This is a touristy attraction and worth the view. Many websites say it is an easy hike. This depends on your fitness level and your knowledge of the mountain. What is essential for this hike is wearing the appropriate shoes - anyone can do this hike, but wearing the right shoes makes the world of difference. The rocks and tree roots can sometimes be very slippery due to all the people doing the hike. If you very scared of heights - do not do it. Why? Because there are chains and ladders that one needs to climb to get to the top. But if you not that scared you can take the easier route that goes around the side of the mountain.

If you want something less touristy and searching for a beautiful view. Little Lion’s Head is for you. This is about a 40 minute or less hike (depending on how fit you are). This hike resembles Lion’s Head, but on a much smaller scale. It is quiet and very pretty that overlooks Lunduno, Hout Bay and Chapman’s Peak.

Just outside Cape Town lies Crystal Pools. You have to get a permit in advance and are able to walk through the valley exploring all the different pools. Try and see if you can get to the last pool with the most beautiful pool and waterfall tucked away in the cliffs. Just be careful of baboons!
