Portreath has a large beach with soft fine sand and shingle below the shore line. The harbour wall and “rocky” is popular with experienced surfers for its “vortex” surf break. Refreshments may be obtained from the nearby cafe's and resturants. There are a small selection of coffee shops, cafes and pubs located near to the seafront. Public toilets are also available close by. Portreath beach can be accessed via an off-road cycle route, almost directly from our shepherds hut. It's approximately a 45 minutes cycle along the scenic coast to coast trail.
