Transportation
For convenience, our suggestion is to rent a car prior to arrival. You can purchase the mandatory Mexican insurance ahead of time if you book with Enterprise. This save a lot of hassles.
Here is a local car rental with rates more competitive than the large car rentals and has bilingual staff. You can contact them prior to your arrival to book a vehicle. All vehicles are insured and they deliver to the airport.

Water Guidelines
Mexico has different bacteria in the water that may be upsetting if you are visiting from a different country and are not used to drinking it.
Don't drink the tap water unless from the filtered faucet.
There is purified water provided at the kitchen sink out of the silver faucet. This is the only water that should be used for drinking, cooking and brushing your teeth. Please use the purified water provided in the water pitchers in the bathrooms for brushing teeth. Fill ice trays with purified water only.
