Boll Weevil Monument
Enterprise is home to the "Boll Weevil" Monument. The history of the Boll Weevil Bug is significant to the Wiregrass Area. The Boll Weevil invaded the cotton crops causing the farmers to lose their crops. At this time, the local farmers started growing peanuts intead and that changed the way of life for our local farmers. Visit the local museums and peanut plant. We also have several local downtown shops selling items made of our local peanuts called Weevin Nut Company and Sessions Company, Inc.

New Brockton History Fun Fact
The town came to be named New Brockton when the postmaster in town asked that "New" be added to help avoid confusion with the town Blockton.
The first train came through town in 1898, prompting a development boom as settlers moved to town to take advantage of the better shipping and transportation.
