A must-see is the famous work of the Veiled Christ in the historic center of Naples, a unique work... The Veiled Christ is one of the most famous marble sculptures in the artistic heritage of Naples. The work, created by Giuseppe Sanmartino, is kept inside the Sansevero Chapel, located in the heart of the historical center of the Neapolitan city, behind Piazza San Domenico Maggiore and near San Gregorio Armeno. Over the centuries, numerous legends have been spread about the making of the famous veil lying on the Christ displayed in the "Sansevero Chapel". In fact, the story seems to be shrouded in mystery. According to some, it seems that this was the work of an alchemical process of marbling carried out by Prince Raimondo di Sangro himself, a famous scientist and alchemist. The latter is said to have taught the author of the work the process of calcifying the fabric into marble crystals at the basis of the realistic effect of the veil, which can still be admired today. Regular ticket: €10.00. Children from 10 to 25 years old: € 7.00. To visit the Sansevero Chapel Museum, reservations are required.

The Church of the Gesù Nuovo, or Trinità Maggiore in Naples, is a unique example of an aristocratic mansion (Palazzo Sanseverino) converted into an ecclesiastical building. The church opens onto the eponymous Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, one of the symbolic squares of the historic center of Naples, crossed by the famous "Spaccanapoli." Next to the Gesù Nuovo is the Church of Santa Chiara, an ancient building that is somewhat Gothic and somewhat Baroque.

San Gregorio Armeno is known worldwide as ''the Street of Nativity Scenes'' thanks to the presence of ancient workshops that handcraft Neapolitan Nativity characters. It is a tradition handed down from generation to generation, thanks in part to the ability of the artisans to adapt their skills to changing times, even making shepherds in the guise of famous characters of current events.

Toledo is one of the Naples Metro Art Stations, considered the most beautiful in Europe by the Daily Telegraph and CNN and was designed by Spanish architect Oscar Tusquets. It is very impressive because it is lit by large skylights and there are some remains of the ancient Aragonese walls found during excavations. It is enriched by two large mosaics made emulating the Pompeian style, and as you go down the escalators, you are immersed in a marine-themed environment, the so-called sea gallery. The corridors are decorated with aquatic-themed mosaics, and in the long corridor there are panels depicting the movement of waves.

The Royal Palace has been the center of power in Naples and throughout southern Italy for more than three centuries. With its gray and red bulk overlooking Piazza Plebiscito and the gulf, it constitutes a veritable gateway of the city to the sea. Inside this imposing and severe building are a series of porticoes, courtyards and gardens that lead to spaces once occupied by the court and the many service functions of a royal palace. Today those functions have been replaced by a museum and other cultural institutions (the National Library, the San Carlo Theater). In the Historical Apartment, paintings, marble, stucco, tapestries and precious furnishings tell the story of the lives of the Palace's occupants and with them many highlights of the history of Italy and Europe. Adults: €15 (US$16.70 ) (includes gallery, palace, gardens and temporary exhibitions). Young people aged 18 to 24: €2 (US$2.20 ). Minors: free admission.
